I’m Matthew Peneycad, founder of RGB Social.

Before my professional life was dedicated to RGB Social, I worked in Toronto at advertising agencies large and small, on clients ranging in size from household name multinational giants, to local proprietorships, in a number of diverse categories including Consumer Packaged Goods, Automotive, Quick Service Restaurants, Financial and Beverage Alcohol.

When I began my career in advertising, my work was primarily focused on traditional communication channels: television, radio, print, OOH, DM, some digital, and so forth.

But as the years went by, my interest in communications shifted from traditional media, to digital, social media, and later, content marketing.

You know this part of the story as well as I do, but my clients’ interest in communications channels was also shifting, as were their dollars.

Increasingly, I was working on devising and selling social media strategies, organizing implementation plans, advising on content creation, overseeing community management and development, and other similar activities, which suited me well.

So, why did I veer from this career path to start RGB Social?

My motivation was to increase the speed and efficiency with which I could work, to be nimble and adaptable in a rapidly evolving landscape, to do the best possible work for my clients in my area of focus, and to be truly entrepreneurial.

In addition to applying my knowledge of social media and content marketing to the businesses and organizations I work with as RGB Social, I share as much insight and information as possible on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and the RGB Social blog.

My writing on social media and content marketing is frequently featured on prominent sites including Social Media Today and Business 2 Community. I have also been published in Ragan’s PR Daily, bizMarketing Magazine, Yahoo! Small Business Advisor, and Soshable, all of which I recommend you check out when you have a moment.
