If you want a simple way to stay on top of the latest news and announcements from each of the major social media networks, this new blog post series is for you.
Every week (this series will be published every Monday moving forward), we’ll be rounding-up the latest updates from Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, Vine, YouTube, and others that may impact the way you use social media networks for your business.
For the period of March 28 to April 3, there were a fair number of April Fools announcements, but here’s a breakdown of actual major news from last week on social:
A relatively minor, but important update has been made to ad overlays. When driving users off platform, ad overlays now indicate your business name and destination URL instead of the generic, ‘Go to Website’, or, ‘Go to App Store’, message that was previously displayed depending on your advertising goals.
When publishing photos on Twitter, users can now add descriptions for each image – up to 420 characters – for those who are visually impaired.
Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Vine and YouTube all had quiet news weeks with no announcements worth reporting.
If somehow we’ve missed something, please feel free to bring it to our attention in the comments.
